News Senior Chamber Choir Sings Evensong at Southwark Cathedral 04.06.2026
On Wednesday 3 June, the Senior Chamber Choir sang at Southwark Cathedral in London. This was our third evensong there in four years, and we were honoured to return to sing at this prestigious venue.
The pupils sang Sarah MacDonald’s Preces and Responses, a setting of Psalm 9, Kerensa Briggs’s Windsor Service (composed for Godolphin and Latymer School in 2019) and William H. Harris’s setting of Come, My Way, My Truth, My Life with text by George Herbert.
The pupils sang with beautiful expression, shape and lyricism, with particular attention to the text in the Harris; and Maia, Bella and Lucia, Lower Sixth, performed solos in the Briggs with outstanding stylistic awareness. This was a hugely impressive performance, particularly given that the choir consisted only of pupils from Years 10 and Lower Sixth (due to exam leave for our other students). Bravo!
