News Radley Rowing Camp 16.04.2026
During the Easter break, Years 10 to Upper Sixth rowers swapped the urban tidal Thames for a more tranquil stretch in Oxfordshire to take part in an intensive training camp hosted by Radley College. The girls benefited from calmer waters, allowing paradigm shifts in their technique, while the peaceful surroundings supported both recovery between sessions and focused revision time with fewer distractions for those preparing for mock exams.
The camp’s primary aim was to build a strong foundation for the upcoming summer racing season, and the squad certainly rose to the challenge. Many athletes covered an impressive 100–125km over the course of the week, making the most of the structured training programme. The campus was peaceful and the food top notch! What more could we ask for?
While Year 9 did not attend the camp, they are set to begin their racing season this Sunday at the Lea Spring Regatta in East London. The following weekend, a larger squad representing all year-groups will compete at the more local Hammersmith Regatta. As always, support from the riverbank would be greatly appreciated.
