News Girls Show Parents the Ropes at Family Sports Celebration 27.03.2026
Last night, more than 200 parents and students came together for a fun, challenging – and just a bit competitive – evening of activities. Swapping the side lines for centre stage, parents had the chance to experience first-hand some of the sporting opportunities on offer to their daughters.
From picking up a hockey stick (some perhaps for the first time since their own school days) to bouncing skyward on trampolines in pursuit of the perfect swivel hips, there was no shortage of action. Elsewhere, dance studios pulsed with movement, the gloves were ‘on’ for kick-boxing, fencing bouts brought out competitive spirits, and the climbing wall tested both nerve and determination.
What made the evening truly special, however, was the role reversal on display. Daughters took the lead as confident guides and coaches, showing their parents the ropes and showing their expertise. The result was a heart-warming atmosphere full of encouragement, shared laughter, and memorable moments.
The event was a clear success, with smiles all around and plenty of stories to tell. A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part and threw themselves so wholeheartedly into the experience. Judging by the enthusiasm on display, this format for the event will become a firm fixture on the school calendar.
