News Confidence Counts: Head Girls Team Collaborates with Hampton School to Inspire Year 10 27.03.2026
Since September, our Head Girls Team has been working in collaboration with the Head Boys Team from Hampton School to deliver a workshop on the topic of their choice to Year 10s.
After careful discussion and research, the teams chose to focus on the theme of confidence. Recognising the challenges that come with the transition into the GCSE years – new academic pressures, shifting friendships, and changing dynamics – they designed a workshop to support students in navigating this important period.
The final programme consisted of three 25-minute sessions, delivered in pairs by one Head Girl and one Head Boy. The sessions explored a range of ideas, including why confidence matters, how it supports personal growth, and how it feeds into all aspects of life. Importantly, the workshop highlighted that confidence looks different for everyone, and that it is equally valid to feel uncertain at times. Students were encouraged to recognise confidence in themselves and others, and to understand that developing self-belief is a gradual and personal process.
The project was entirely student-led. By delivering the sessions themselves, the Head Girls and Head Boys created an authentic and relatable experience, helping Year 10 students feel more at ease and open to discussion. The workshops were extremely well received, with positive feedback from Year 10 students. We look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come.
