News Highgate School MUN Conference 13.10.2025

Our first Model United Nations (MUN) conference of the academic year was a new event held at Highgate School, where students discussed and debated a wide range of issues related to the theme of Global Equality such as tariffs, debt traps, migration, sea level rises and land mine usage.

It was great to see experienced and novice Godolphin and Latymer delegates participating in their committees confidently, demonstrating excellent knowledge of the position of their allocated country on their topic. For their committee work, Hannah and Zeynep, Lower Sixth, and Ananya, Year 10, were awarded ‘Best Delegate’ and Carolina, Lower Sixth, was given a Special Mention. The General Assembly Crisis focused on a theoretical situation where the IMF had been the victim of a cyber attack; Godolphin delegations played a major role in the ensuing discussion about how to resolve this. In part due to their frequent calls of ‘Vive La France!’, our French delegation (Isabella, Lower Sixth, Anna, Year 11, and Lia, Lower Sixth) were awarded Most Creative Delegation, and the China delegation (Hannah, Lower Sixth, Ananya, Year 10 and Zeynep, Lower Sixth) were delighted to be awarded overall Best Delegation. It was a great start to the MUN year; thank you to Highgate School for hosting the event.
