The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.
Subjects within the large and thriving Science Faculty are extremely popular. Taught by specialist teachers and supported by dedicated technical staff, a range of new technologies is used in a modern suite of well-equipped classrooms and laboratories to facilitate effective learning. There is a strong focus on skills development and independent learning and high importance is placed on hands-on practical work.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspirational Biologist to join the School from 22 April or 1 September 2025 to teach across the school on a full time basis.
The ability to work successfully as a member of an enthusiastic and proactive team, with an energetic and willing approach, is essential. Also essential is the ability to teach up to GCSE and A Level. Experience of teaching the IB, and/or experience of supporting applications to highly competitive university courses, would be desirable. We currently teach OCR Biology A Level and Edexcel IGCSE.

The role will oversee the provision of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine applications advice and guidance, ensuring that girls are aware of the preparation they need to undertake from Year 10 onwards.
All members of the department play a role in the extensive extra-curricular life of the faculty and our students enjoy participating in a wide range of additional activities, in a stimulating and fun learning environment. All staff are expected to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular programme on offer at the School.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
Accommodation may be available for new staff in a local six-unit property.
Fully completed application forms should be returned to recruitment@godolphinandlatymer.com as soon as possible.
Please clearly state on your application form if you would also like to be considered for the Medical Subjects Applications Coordinator role in addition to Teacher of Biology.
Please note that applications must be made on the school’s application form. CVs alone will not be accepted.
There is no closing date for this vacancy.
Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. As a teaching member of staff you will be working directly with, and be responsible for, the children that you teach. You are also likely to have contact with other pupils on a regular basis which may include specific pastoral or other responsibilities for pupils whom you do not teach.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
