Permanent and full time
To start as soon as possible
The Godolphin and Latymer School is one of the country’s leading independent day schools for girls, located on a six acre site in Hammersmith, London. The School’s facilities are excellent, making it an exciting place to learn and work. The students at Godolphin and Latymer receive unrivalled academic and pastoral support and outstanding examination results are achieved.
We currently seek to appoint a Premises Assistant to work on a permanent and full time basis, on an alternating shift pattern with obligatory regular overtime and as part of a rota for emergency call-outs. Godolphin and Latymer is a very busy school, both during the daytime and after-school throughout the year. A wide variety of events take place outside of normal school hours, primarily during evenings and weekends and the occasional bank holiday, all of which require overtime to be worked and shared equally between the team.
We require a motivated, enthusiastic and proactive candidate to join our Premises team, to lock/unlock the school, assist with set-ups for activities and events, repairs, decoration, security and maintenance of the school’s buildings and furniture, and to retain the high standards and safe environment that the pupils, staff and visitors expect at all times.
Previous experience in a similar role is not necessary, however, applicants will need the basic relevant skills and the ability to fulfil the needs of the role. Full training will be provided to the appointed post-holder. Please refer to the recruitment information booklet for the job description for the role which includes the core working hours and person specification.
The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience.
The start date will be as soon as possible on the completion of all required pre-employment checks.
Fully completed application forms must be returned to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Please note that applications must be made on the school’s application form. CVs alone will not be accepted.
There is no closing date for this vacancy.
Applications will be considered on receipt and interviews may occur at any stage.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and responsibility. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
All staff working in the School during the school day will have some contact with children and will therefore be in regulated activity. In your role you are unlikely to be working with children directly but will regularly interact with pupils who may seek your assistance or otherwise interact with you when moving around the school.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
