We currently seek to appoint a well-qualified and inspirational Head of Science to join the School from 1 September 2024 on a full-time basis and to lead the established team of well-qualified subject leaders, teachers and technicians. This role would be ideal for someone who is currently leading an individual science subject or a small science department and who is ambitious to take on a wider leadership role.

This role is a rare and exciting opportunity to shape and direct progress and attainment across all three sciences. The successful candidate will be able to develop further the use of teaching strategies which encourage a deep and scholarly engagement with the subject whilst focusing on excellent levels of achievement in all sections of the school. They will be an inspirational teacher and will demonstrate high levels of commitment to the development of all three sciences at Godolphin and Latymer, including engaging with the whole school enthusiasm for evidence-informed teaching and learning.

The ability to work successfully as a member of an enthusiastic and proactive team, with an energetic and willing approach, is essential. Also essential is the ability to teach up to GCSE and A Level in at least one of the sciences. Experience of teaching the IB, and/or experience of supporting applications to highly competitive university courses, would be desirable.

Subjects within the large and thriving Science Faculty are extremely popular. Taught by specialist teachers from Year 7 upwards, and supported by dedicated technical staff, a range of new technologies is used in a modern suite of well-equipped classrooms and laboratories to facilitate effective learning. All members of each department play a role in the extensive extra-curricular life of the faculty and our students enjoy participating in a wide range of additional activities, in a stimulating learning environment. All staff are expected to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular programme on offer at the School.

The salary will be commensurate with the post and will depend upon qualifications and experience. Accommodation may be available for new staff in a local six-unit property.
