Year 8 Visit Kew Gardens

Posted: 14/09/18

Year 8 Technology students made the short trip to Kew Gardens on Thursday to examine the exotic flowers, walk amongst the treetops, and marvel at the world's largest botanical and mycological collection.

Kew presents a great opportunity for Technology students as it combines both elements of design and food technology, offering insight into food provenance and the design elements prevalent in the natural world.

Working in small groups, the girls spent the day discovering the Gardens' diverse variety of plants and exploring its 250 year history, visiting numerous attractions throughout the day. In glorious September sunshine, the girls were wonderfully well behaved and were really engaged in the tasks they had been set.
