Year 8 Biologists Visit London Zoo

Posted: 07/06/19

On Wednesday, the whole of Year 8 travelled to London Zoo to marvel at the largest collection of animals in the United Kingdom as part of a Summer Conservation Project being completed in their Biology lessons.

In addition to a spirited exploration of the enclosures, the girls attended an educational session on wildlife under threat led by ZSL staff. The students investigated a variety of confiscated products of the illegal wildlife trade and engaged in a discussion about hunting. A particular highlight was the opportunity given to the students to handle a corn snake!

Year 8 Biologists will now use their experience at the zoo to complete their project and debate whether zoos have a beneficial impact on endangered species.
