On Thursday the whole of Year 7 took part in a Philosophy and Religion trip to the National Gallery and the Church of Saint Martin in the Fields.
It was a superb day and the students learnt all about differing religious artwork, masterpiece by masterpiece. In the Gallery, the girls were treated to some fantastic insight from the Gallery guides who explained the background behind some of the most famous pieces of religious artwork in the world. They also had time to explore some of the rooms and conduct their own research into differing pieces of their choice. After touring the gallery, the rest of the afternoon was spent examining the stunning church at Saint Martin in the Fields and the girls were lucky enough to hear a local gospel choir rehearsing for a forthcoming concert.
It was an excellent day with girls really engaged with the content and left excited to share all of their experiences in upcoming lessons.
