News Year 7 Historians Visit National Army Museum and Royal Hospital 21.06.2019

On Monday the whole of Year 8 visited the National Army Museum and the Royal Hospital in Chelsea to learn more about the Civil War and the Stuarts.

It was wonderful to see the girls studying the many artefacts in the galleries independently and getting involved in the interactive displays available. The girls also had a chance to tour the Royal Hospital and meet ‘Sir Christopher Wren’, its architect, who told us all about the cultural and intellectual climate of the 17thcentury and the Restoration.

Back at the National Army Museum, girls had the chance to try on the equipment Civil War soldiers would have had and handle (unloaded) weapons from that time period!
