The Geography department took the Year 10 geographers to South Wales for a five-day residential field course.
This is our sixth year visiting the Margam Discovery Centre, near Port Talbot, and it continues to impress. The girls completed three full investigations over the weekend. They visited Cardiff to collect data about urban land use change and the regeneration of Cardiff Bay. They also travelled the length of the River Ogmore, from source to mouth, investigating changing channel characteristics. New this year was a visit to Port Talbot and Glyncorrwg, in the Welsh Valleys, to investigate the impacts of deindustrialisation on contrasting localities.
The girls were exemplary and very much enjoyed the lush surroundings of Margam Country Park.
