U12 cricket team become London Champions

Posted: 01/02/17

On 31st January two teams went to Lords cricket ground to play in the London Schools' competition. Both teams played extremely well with the B team narrowly losing the bronze medal by four runs in the 3rd/4th placing. However the A team won all their pool games and headed to the finals to play against St Paul's Girls' School. We won the toss and opted to field....after one over our opposition had scored 22 runs. However the girls relaxed into the game and forced several errors by the batters, resulting in five quick wickets; the score was now 14 runs. After the 8 overs the score to beat was 28.

The girls batted beautifully and tactically, cleverly watching the run rate and not taking too many risky balls. After their 8 overs the score was 92 to Godolphin.......what a fantastic win but a great experience for both teams to play at the home of cricket.
