The Higher Education Preparation Programme

Posted: 14/06/18

At this stage of the academic year, Lower Sixth students are progressing well on their journey towards life beyond the school gates of Godolphin. The Higher Education Prep Programme (HEPP), which is tailored each year to the needs of the students, has been supporting them in their exploration of ideas and helping them plan for their exciting future. After having at least one individual meeting with a member of the Higher Education and Careers Team in spring term to discuss plans, the students’ HEPP kicked off at the start of the summer term with a workshop designed to get them thinking about their degree subject(s) and Personal Statement.

Last week, the Lower Sixth had two intensive days of subject specific university preparation, a fantastic Presentation Skills workshop given by Jonathan Broke from Inside Knowledge, as well as meetings on applying to overseas universities and a TSA essay prep session for Oxford and Cambridge applicants. The Higher Education and Careers Team also worked with each student to register all those applying to UK universities on to UCAS for 2019 entry. Add in attendance at various university open days up and down the country, and this has been a very busy but productive summer term for Lower Sixth!
