Last Thursday we were joined by parents and families from across the school to enjoy the sunshine at our first Summer BBQ hosted by the Headmistress and the Development Department. The evening was a great opportunity for the school community to hear from Dr Ramsey and Miss Hodgkins about the role of the Annual Giving Programme and the kinds of projects and pupil support it offers each year. The Annual Giving Programme primarily focuses on supporting a greater number of bursary places within the school, enriching the educational environment in which all our pupils learn. Each year, staff are also given the opportunity to put forward new project ideas from within their department which they think will benefit the girls’ learning, above and beyond the standard teaching practices. This year, we are fundraising for two new rowing boats for the Boat Club, to accommodate the increasing number of girls partaking in the sport and the higher levels at which the girls are rowing at in competitions. Money being raised will also go towards an interactive learning space in the lower Science corridor, which will inspire the girls and bring Science to life at Godolphin through a series of artefacts and collaborative displays.
The Annual Giving Programme is generously supported by the whole school community, from current parents, staff and girls to past parents and Old Dolphins. Every donation of any amount, both one-off and regular gifts, are gratefully received and we are equally thankful for the time and support kindly given to us by our community.
