No 1 UK School for IB!

Posted: 06/09/19

Thursday morning’s post brought us the fantastic news that, as a result of our girls achievements in their IB examinations, we are the No 1 International Baccalaureate Diploma school in the UK for 2019 and are equal second in the world - just pipped to top spot by a school in Singapore. Dr Frances Ramsey shared the news with members of staff extending 'many congratulations to Ms Dubois, our IB Co-ordinator, and to all those who taught on the programme, helping the girls to achieve this world-beating success'.

The accolade is well-deserved after a stunning set of public examination results across the board in the summer:

· A Level:  38% of grades were A* and 96% A*-B

· International Baccalaureate: our candidates had an average score of just over 41 points, and 85% of the cohort scored 40 or more

· A Level/IB results combined: 41% A*/HL 7

· Extended Project Qualification: 61% of projects were graded A*

· GCSE: 86% of grades were 9-8 and 96% 9-7

This week we have a record number of Lower Sixth girls starting the IB programme and we are delighted that we can offer our Sixth Form students a choice of the A Level or IB pathway.
