Music Scholars' Concert in Oxford

Posted: 24/05/19

On Tuesday Music Scholars in Year 7, 8 and 9 visited Oxford University. At Pembroke College they enjoyed a tour and lunch in the hall before giving a recital in the Pichette Auditorium, with parents and a number of Old Dolphins in attendance to show their support.

The girls had time in the afternoon to visit the music faculty’s museum of musical instruments and play some rare specimens which included the crumhorn, theremin, cornett and harpsichord. After a walking tour of the university in which the girls visited the Ashmolean Museum, Sheldonian Theatre, Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Camera and a number of colleges, the final stop on an eventful trip was to hear Choral Evensong sung by the choir of Christchurch College.
