Tuesday's IB Visual Arts exhibition gave three talented artists from the Upper Sixth the opportunity to discuss their original collection of distinct, innovative pieces of art to an audience of parents and friends of the school.
The exhibition forms an important part of their IB Visual Arts course and provides an opportunity for the students involved to discuss the themes and processes explored in their work. Sara Galy, Nathalie Korhonen Cuestas and Sophia Wrede not only created visually exciting artworks rich with ideas, but also curated their exhibition.
Students explored a range of themes including current social and political and scientific issues, provoking some strong reactions and illustrating the power of images to communicate to an audience. The standard of work was very high and the range of processes, including photography, print, painting was really very impressive.
