Higher Education Preparation Programme

Posted: 07/06/19

The Lower Sixth have been off-timetable this week immersed in the Higher Education Preparation Programme. Described by students as 'absolutely fascinating', the 'Power of Personal Communication' workshop on Wednesday was a huge success. Students especially enjoyed learning more about the importance of body language and first impressions by practising eye-contact, a strong handshake, and effective small talk - all of which will play a key role in their future academic and professional lives.

The Higher Education Preparation Programme is tailored to each student and their aspirations beyond the Sixth Form. Sessions on offer over the past week include: US essay writing, LNAT workshop for those applying to study Law, UCAT preparation for medics and dentists, subject specific 'uniprep' meetings, and UCAS Apply sessions. Students have also made excellent progress with their Extended Projects and Extended Essays. The Programme continues alongside lessons until the end of term.
