U12 London Schools’ runners up
U15 London Schools’ winner and now Middlesex finalists
On Friday 8 February we were delighted to welcome Millfield to Godolphin and Latymer to play the national quarter finals.
The U16 squad should be praised on their phenomenal achievement thus far, having beaten teams like Surbiton and St George’s to reach the quarter finals. The match was thrilling with both teams having some excellent passages of play. Godolphin were 3-1 down with 5 minutes to go when we clawed back a goal and then about 2 minutes later drew level……only for the final whistle to go………….penalties!
It was a very tense penalty shoot-out which went to sudden death with Godolphin emerging as the winners: 7-6 on penalties. Our thanks and commiserations go to Millfield who played so well throughout and missed-out with the narrowest of defeats.
Our squad will now go to the semi finals on Wednesday 27 February at Lee Valley Park Stratford and then play again on Thursday 28 February, also at Lee Valley for their placing matches.
This means that Godolphin and Latymer is one of the top four teams in the country at U16 hockey; congratulations to them and their coach Dr Row and the best of luck for the semi finals.
