Half-term Cricket in Holland

Posted: 07/06/18

Year 8 and 9 cricketers travelled to Holland over Half-term to compete against the Under 15 Dutch National Team over three matches.

Our girls narrowly lost to the Dutch Lionesses in the last over which was a great achievement considering that they are a more senior team. The girls missed out on the opportunity to redeem themselves as the second match was called off due to thunder, lighting and even hail. The weather was kinder for the final game, but with the grass still wet, the girls instead played barefoot softball cricket in mixed teams and had great fun. It was lovely to see Lionesses and Dolphins joining hand in hand to slide through the giant puddles which had formed on the waterlogged cricket field to round off a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
