Congratulations to Lower Sixth student Delilah who has been awarded the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, presented to her by Air Marshall Julian Young, RAF Chief of Engineering, at last week’s glittering awards ceremony.

The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship of its type in the UK and aims to inspire and nurture school-age students to be the country’s future leaders of the Engineering Profession.

Delilah took part in a rigorous selection process and as part of her scholarship will receive support from the sponsors, which can include valuable hands-on work experience, support for a curriculum project and a personal mentor who can help with aspects of her studies and career planning.

Air Marshall Julian Young commented on Twitter  “It was a great honour to shake the hand of & present Arkwright Scholarships to a hundred of our future engineers - an inspiration. Good luck Delilah!”
