Classics and Philosophy Visit to Greece

Posted: 14/11/17

During October half term, Year 11 and Sixth Form Classics and Philosophy students visited Greece.

The girls were given the opportunity to take in many of the temples and historical sites they had discussed throughout their GCSEs and A Levels such as the Parthenon, the enduring symbol of Ancient Greece and western civilisation, the Theatre of Dionysus, the supposed birthplace of Greek tragedy, and the fortified city of Mycenae to name a few.

The views from Delphi on the south-western slope of Mount Parnassus and running in the stadium at Olympia, the location of many of the sporting events at the Ancient Olympic Games, were certainly highlights of a fascinating trip.
