Choir Tour to Venice

Posted: 07/09/18

Godolphin girls showcased their vocals talents when they visited the beautiful city of Venice as part of a choir tour organised by the Music department.

The tour included performances at St Mark’s Basilica, La Pietà (Vivaldi’s Church) and San Giovanni Battista. The girls sang a classical programme of English and Italian sacred and operatic repertoire ranging from Palestrina to Rutter via Vivaldi. There was also time for a walking tour of the city, visits to the Palazzo Ducale, Musical Museum, Gallerie dell'Accademia and the lagoon islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. A visit to a water park and regular gelato breaks kept the girls cool in the glorious sunshine.
