British Schoolgirls' Ski Races

Posted: 01/02/19

Congratulations to our ski team who returned from the 60th British Schoolgirls' Races in Flaine with a clutch of medals. The girls completed two days of intensive training with specialist instructors before competing in giant slalom and slalom competitions with plenty of time in between to enjoy the pistes, socialise with other teams from nearly forty other schools, and consume a mountain of hot chocolate!

The two Godolphin and Latymer ski teams were comprised of Sophia, Georgia, Caroline, Ella, Marina and Asia. The teams were accompanied by Miss Graham and Dr Row – who both did a fantastic job as official gate keepers on race days! The standard of competition was extremely high and we are absolutely delighted that Sophia (Team Captain) came home with three silver medals in the U21 Giant Slalom, Slalom and combined races, and Georgia took a silver in the U18 combined races and a bronze in the U18 Slalom.  It was a great effort all round and we’re so glad that the girls have brought the snow back with them!
