On Monday 30 October, girls from the Lower Sixth English IB group went to see the timeless story of Antigone at Greenwich Theatre. This Greek tragedy had been rewritten so that it was set in a Hunger Games style dystopian future, showing that the issue of whether law was the same as natural justice is a far reaching concept.
The girls loved the way that the small cast made use of physical theatre as well as traditional stagecraft. On the journey home, the girls discussed the idea of 'morally right' laws, and the need to challenge the creation of law as an instrument of tyranny.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening had by all.
