A history making race for G&LBC

Posted: 13/03/17

On Saturday 11th March,  G&LBC had two crews racing at the Women’s Eights Head of the River Race (WEHORR). This is the largest women’s rowing race in the world, with 321 eights competing in the 2017. With many Olympians, International, Oxbridge, University, Club and School crews competing, this is really is a huge, prestigious event. Godolphin entered two crews, with the J18s racing in the School event, and the J16s racing in the Novice Academic. This was the first time G&LBC had entered J16s to race at WEHORR. The J18s (pictured) had a fantastic race to finish 49th overall. A truly wonderful result! The J16s had a strong race to finish in the top two thirds, which will be a great experience for them, with an eye to the future. Overall, this was a history making race for G&LBC, with a brilliant result for the J18s, and a first ever race for our J16 squad.
