News 1st XI Hockey Squad Fundraising for NHS ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ 06.05.2020

Congratulations to our 1st XI Hockey Squad who, together, have run 3000km in 30 days to raise money for NHSย charities. ย Jessica Mayer, a member of the team, talks about the brilliant fundraising effort:

‘The Godolphin 1XI hockey wanted to help support and thank the real heroes of our country… the NHS key workers. The team decided to embark on a challenging journey that would not only be sure to keep up our fitness over these strange and lonely times, but would most importantly raise at least ยฃ3000 (our first target) for NHS Charities Together. The team of 20 runners (17 players and 3 coaches: Mr Barratt, Taj and Mrs Gordon) ran 5km each, per day, for 30 consecutive days. After just two days we were able to raise the target to ยฃ7500 after donations came flooding in from friends and family. Thanks to Mrs Gordon, hockey internationals from East Grinstead Ladies 1s (including Sophie Bray and Tess Howard) joined us on our 5km evening run which wasย live-streamed onย Instagram. We thank everyone who supported us and helped us achieve our fundraising target for the NHS workers who continue to risk their lives on the front line. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™’

We would like to thank all of the members of the Godolphin community who supported the girls; the fundraising page is still open for anyone who would like to donate: uk.virginmoneygiving.com/
