News Independent School of the Year Awards Finalist: Social Mobility and London categories 06.09.2023
We are absolutely thrilled that following the announcement of the shortlisted schools at the end of the last academic year, we have made it through as finalists for the Contribution to Social Mobility and London Independent School of the Year categories.
The award for contribution to social mobility recognises schools which have made an inspirational and decisive contribution to upward social mobility within their community in the past year. In 2023, the judges were particularly keen to learn about social mobility/bursary programmes which showcase the positive contribution that an independent school can have on the educational achievements of young people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. We were very pleased to be able to highlight the success of our Bridge programme as part of our entry – including five Bridge students who have joined Godolphin in Year 7 this September – and the new Bridge Seniors which has launched this summer.
The award for London Independent School of the Year recognises schools which demonstrate how the collective student experience has been enriched by the school’s location within the Capital and the access this provides to world-class cultural, sporting and academic facilities. As well as all the curricular and extra-curricular activities that make the most of our London location, we also highlighted the partnerships we have forged through our Inhouse Internship programme with London based businesses, charities and communities, and again our Bridge programme working with local primary schools.
Getting through to the final in two categories alongside other fantastic schools is a great tribute to all of the hard work and commitment of our whole school community.
